BloomFlora opened in February 2019 on Patriarchou Ioakeim 22 in Kolonaki, Athens — a 60m² atelier with a working coolroom, a tile-floored work bench Iliana inherited from a butcher who closed in 2017, and a single front window that gets the late-afternoon sun. The atelier is co-owned by Iliana Mavridi (born 1986, ex-fashion buyer at a Paris-based showroom for nine years before flowers got under her nails) and Dimitra Kolla (born 1972, twenty-six years a florist — her first flower shop in Patisia closed when the rent doubled in 2017). Iliana sketched the brand and the wedding business plan on a napkin in 2018; Dimitra brought the flowers, the suppliers, and a second pair of hands.
